The Restaurant Antica Fattoria del Grottaione is located in the heart of Montenero, a beautiful village surrounded by the Val D’Orcia countryside.
Whilst travelling along the street that leads from Mount Amiata to Montalcino, you will be lulled by the gentle hills covered with long rows of vines and large expanses of wheat.
Seasonal colours, from autumn’s dry yellows to the intense greens of spring, will escort you along the road of the cypresses leading to the centre of Montenero.
At the very end of that road, coming out in a small square with a fountain in the middle, you will find Antica Fattoria del Grottaione.
Open the door and fall in love with the ancient stone vaults, the Florentine terracotta floor and the old masterfully restored furniture.
Make your way to the terrace to enjoy the wonderful view, where you can observe the wonders of the Val d'Orcia, with its Unesco castles and villages. Allow yourself an enchanting aperitif and a dinner in the sunset. Let, Flavio Biserni, your host, guide you through food flavours and wine notes.
The restaurant is to be found in many guides, the most important of which is Osterie d’Italia 2017 by Slow Food. Flavio and his staff have been awarded the famous Slow Food snail since 2006. Other guides praising Antica Fattoria del Grottaione are ViaMichelin, Touring Club Italiano, Gambero Rosso, Vinix and many others.
The Grottaione can accommodate up to 50 people in both the dining room and the terrace.
In conclusion, it is an experience to do!
The greatest adventure is the flavours I taste and the smell that caresses my nose
